Backend & AI Engineer · Python / Django
Python/Django backends, automation and AI systems that hold up in production.
Backend & AI engineer working in Python and Django. I build multi-tenant SaaS cores, payment rails, automation pipelines and agent/LLM integrations — and ship things that survive an audit (ADR discipline, secret hygiene, email deliverability).
A few systems I keep coming back to.
Multi-tenant SaaS platform: build Telegram bots, mini-apps and sites from pluggable modules.
Two products on one backend: realtime speech translation and AI meeting notes.
Automated SEO, technical SEO, performance and AI-readiness auditor in Python/Django: a URL goes in, 400+ checks, a weighted score and a PDF report come out.
I am Vitaliy Sazonov, known online as wm2: a backend and AI engineer who writes Python and Django. I have more than ten years of commercial experience and have been writing code since school. For the last five years I have designed and run my own production products end to end, from architecture and the backend to infrastructure and releases. Since 2023 this has been my full-time work.
Most of my work sits where reliability matters: multi-tenant SaaS cores with strict data isolation, payment flows with idempotent webhooks, queues and background jobs on Celery and RabbitMQ, and AI features such as realtime speech translation, meeting summaries and retrieval over pgvector. I record architecture decisions as ADRs, keep secrets out of code and put every external service behind an adapter, so it can be replaced by configuration.
Recent work is in the case studies: the App-Kit platform, the Lingvo translator and meeting assistant, and seo-audit, an automated site auditor with 400+ checks. My full work history and skills are in the CV.
I work remotely from Bangkok (GMT+7), in Russian (native) and English (B2), and I am open to full-time roles, contracts and consulting. The fastest way to reach me is Telegram or hi@wm2.dev; details are on the hire me page.
